Detective, Waiter at Café Poirot
The warm environment, paired with the lack of business the establishment tended to have during early morning, brought a natural lethargy upon his state, slacking his features and tugging stubbornly downwards at his eyelids. Bringing a weathered hand to his lips, he muffled a yawn, chuckling helplessly as his co-worker, Azuza-san, threw an endeared glare his way, honed to pick up any signs of laziness but too kind to chastise him for it.
The unusually-crisp sound of a chime broke the peaceful atmosphere apart, and the pair reflexively straightened their backs, snapping to attention at the chance of a potential business. He pulled his features taut, garnishing his contours with a set of curved, welcoming lips. Inclining his head respectfully, he gestured the customer inwards with a welcoming sweep of arms and handed her a menu with a skilful practicality.
After waiting for a respectable period of time, accompanied with a fair bit of prodding from Azuza-san, Amuro meandered his slow way around vacant tables to where she was situated. Smiling gently - as he had repeatedly done so throughout most his childhood for the sake of practising an effortless look of relaxed friendliness - he inquired softly, voice a mere pitch lower than the soothing hum of machinery emanating from the kitchen, " may I take your order? "
Casting a quick assessing glance, it was immediately apparent that she possessed considerable wealth, as opposed to the run of the mill blue and white collars that frequented the quaint café. With her makeup done in impeccable style, accessories modern to the point of effortless fanfaronade, it was an obvious deduction; one that could be made with a little bit of logicality, at most.
However, it was evident that looks could only deceive as much. Delving deeper, he noted that the classy impression of her purse - made from a luxurious, pastel shade of caramelised-gold leather - was dampened by a cute kokeshi doll. Though camouflaged by its similar shade, the out-of-place sheen the attachment exuded gave it significant presence, causing Amuro's attention to latch greedily on the minor inconsistency in her persona.
Allowing his gaze to travel further, a cursory swivel of his orbs, Amuro unwittingly allowed his grin to split further as the facts aligned. Grin losing some of its feigned politeness, it gave way like water to a smug sort of satisfaction. Pastel nails layered with a subtle but unique neko design, eyes smoky but with hints of pastel layered artfully at its corners, lips red but tinted a lighter hue at its center, check, check, check.
Deduction taking only a split second of time he would need if he were to explain, Amuro continued without a pause, sliding a laminated menu special to rest before her and gesturing to the displayed confectionary to catch her attention, " if you'd allow me, I'd suggest these hazelnut, sea-salted chocolate macarons. " Sensing her reflexive objection, he proceeded assertively, " it's especially well-paired with this elegant blend of rose tea, garnished with flakes of edible gold. "
Though her affinity towards cuteness determined a sure-fire victory for Amuro, he allowed her a moment to falter and consider his suggestion. Taking her affirmation with a faux-humble nod, he relayed the order back with kind patience, before returning to the countertop and handing the order to Azuza-san, waiting for her eyes to widen at the sight of the order before intoning conspiratorially, " we've reeled in a big fish, this time.
