Vermouth slipping away to the first floor study vaguely worries him; did he keep anything too incriminating in there? No, not really. Maybe some old manuscripts, some family photos that would have been shunted to the back of his bookcases, dust settled everywhere had Okiya or Conan not disturbed it. Hopefully that could be used to spot the culprit's tracks; however, he doubted it. Why would the culprit leave trails now if this was all so carefully planned?
The two figures in the door way deserve an explanation and he turns to grant them one, sighing and nodding in confirmation at Okiya's inquiry.
"Thank you." He says tersely, for both the greeting and as to acknowledge his part in keeping the house in order. He can't blame the FBI agent didn't catch the bomber when he came in the house; he did have a life, after all. He stepped back from the door --
"Apologies to burden you all as soon as we all arrived, but we have a situation on our hands."
His voice is pleasant as ever, but if anybody could read the tension in his words it was these two.
"Conan-kun has been kidnapped, and there are bombs installed in this house. I'm unsure of how many. Chikage, could you search the perimeter of this house and Okiya-san, could you come upstairs with me? A colleague of mine--" the phone started ringing--" is searching downstairs."
He frowns at the ringing phone, but ultimately picks it up, nodding at the two and hoping that they would consent to his requests.
"Hello, Kudo Yuusaku speaking."
He easily identifies himself if just for the fact that the number had been clear and not obscured; surely the criminal would have taken measures to at least hide his number?
But it was mostly because the cell phone had a Osakan area code that he was had been free with his name; most likely this was Hattori Heiji, one of the "incompetent" teens that Vermouth had spoken of.
At least Okiya and Chikage wouldn't be considered that. as for the teams, Okiya would be better with him if just for the fact that he was more familiar with the layout of the house than Chikage; They were both great either way, Chikage being a former Phantom thief and Okiya an FBI agent.
He just hoped that the other didn't try to go after the silver blonde that he would have just seen or insist that he search the bottom floor.
