Criminal
A grin automatically worked itself up to his mouth as he skidded around the corner, the adrenaline pumping, pumping through his veins and breathless laughter working itself up his throat and bubbling out into the air; he had promised Nakamori Keibu a chase and a chase he was going to get.
It was a silent agreement and a sorry and a thank you acknowledged by each other; or that was how he liked to think it; a false heist note and a murder, all he could present to the inspector was unfaltering normalcy and an apologetic bow to the audience for the bloody interlude. Poker face- The show must go on. He's been around death too much to let it get to him, anyway. It went hand in hand with his heists, especially since the little guy had joined him in this ride.
That scares him a bit; just exactly when had he become this callous to death? He remembers the sinking submarine, the mishaps he had with the android robot and the dead scientist, the case in the mansion- both cases in both mansions, actually.
He would damn well prevent a murder if he could. But he wouldn't- couldn't- dwell on the past. Professional amusement slammed down in full effect- a smile played around his mouth and Carpe Diem- Focus on the now. He was giving Nakamori Keibu the chase of his life. He wasn't going to let anything else ruin the fun for him; he had an objective and he damn well was going to achieve it.
He's set enough traps to get the police tangled up in; a few dummies here and there. The police were being smart this time around though-- they were always just around the corner; the dogged stampede sounding behind him a sign that Nakamori-keibu wasn't playing it easy today. Most of the men had fallen to his traps, but Nakamori-keibu knew him all too well; he wondered if he was the only officer chasing him by now, but he didn't dare glance back.
It was raining- poor stage control on his part but it wasn't like he had chose the time, anyway. Maybe he could use it to his advantage? Rain, rain...He could dress in black and use poor visibility to do a flashy getaway.... Possible. He didn't want to get drenched wet but he had swum in a ocean once and oh god he didn't want to remember that because there had been ffff-
That little brat.
He turns another corner and--
What?
He screeches to a stop, eyes widening-- dead end. He must have made a mistake; lost in his thoughts and being all too arrogant in his belief that he could outsmart Nakamori-keibu any time; look at where that got him. He stares down the closed off hallway; the ceiling, first, any air vents? Nope. A door then, there were several-- he can hear footsteps getting closer--
He easily picks out the men's sign on a door and he can hear murmurs of voices inside but it's too late, he'd already opened the door and stepped inside. Hopefully in a dignified way and not like he was desperate. Whatever, he could charm the people inside, anywa...y...
...Huh?
The woman and ... Tantei-kun?
What was happening here?
