Ran walked out the door to follow Kaito with a smile. It was strange to think that she came in here expecting to see and confront Shinichi, but now she was going home with Kuroba Kaito, and possibly Shinichi's mother, for dinner in the agency.
They'd fit, right? Otherwise, she'd have to ask her dad if they could head out to look for a better place to eat. Maybe in one of those restaurants in their street.
Descending the stairs, Ran held on the railing and slid her hands down as she took a step after another. Old memories of her running around the house with a younger Shinichi began to flitter in her mind. She would be hurrying around here as quiet as she could trying to find a good hiding spot from the boy who would always, always, find her no matter how good of a hiding spot she thought it was. He would always be the detective while she assumed the role of a criminal if not his accomplice.
Those were the days when Ran was sure he wasn't going anywhere. And now Shinichi was still not here.
She reached the bottom of the steps and found the room she was in to be empty of any other person apart from her and Kaito.
"Yukiko-san?" Ran called out. "Yukiko-san!" Louder, while she moved to another room.
"Ah, there you are, Yukiko-san. I'll be taking my leave now. It's getting late and I still have to make dinner. Would you like to join us? Kaito-kun will be going, too. I hope you don't mind."
